Gambling Harm Awareness Week 2025

This year, Asian Family Services has adopted the theme “Take a Break from the Screen” to enhance awareness of gambling harm among young people and deliver educational resources for parents, caregivers, trusted adults, and whānau.

From 30th August to 13th September, Asian Family Services will conduct a series of activities, including both online and offline campaigns.

“We are here to Support you ”- Free Asian language gambling harm minimisation resources

Health New Zealand partnered with Asian Family Services developed different Asian language brochures. We provide helpful tips, early gambling harm warning signs and a self-awareness tool, as well as information of the support options available to people who gamble as well as their friends and family.

Useful tips for parents and caregivers on discussing online gambling with young people. 
We have developed the "Take a break from the screen" booklet to help parents and caregivers understand the harm associated with online gambling and provide tips on how to communicate with young people about their online gambling activities.
