Acknowledging those we have lost to suicide and recognising the impact on whānau, families, and communities. We also honour those with lived and living experiences of suicidal distress, as well as those who care for and support them.
Speaker Bio
Jordyn Elyse is a dedicated professional in suicide prevention and postvention, passionate about supporting communities and encouraging open conversations around mental health. With a background in minimising alcohol and drug harm, she champions well-being policies and advocates for tamariki protection from harmful advertising. As a Board of Trustees member at a local school, she uses her skills in communication to represent parents and drive positive change. Jordyn also fosters relationships between communities and government partners, advocating for systems change to strengthen community support, all while honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori. Her involvement includes roles with the Counties Manukau Suicide Prevention Steering Group, the BUZZED campaign against addiction stigma, and the Auckland Regional Methamphetamine Working Group. Additionally, Jordyn volunteers with Mothers Milk NZ, promoting informed choices about breastmilk and infant nutrition.
