The board and the team of Asian Family Services are delighted that our National Director, Dr Feng became a Members of the New Zealand Order of Merit, in recognition for her significant contribution and advocacy work for the Asian community in New Zealand. Dr Feng has worked tirelessly, bringing her strong leadership to make systemic changes, to ensure Asian voices can be heard and included in the national policy, especially in mental health and wellbeing, substance abuse, and gambling harm. Dr Feng advocates for health sectors to raise awareness of the challenges faced by Asian communities to ensure they can have timely and adequate resources and information, especially during the COVID19 pandemic. Fred Pau, Asian Family Services’ chair stated “we are extremely pleased and grateful that Dr Feng's passionate advocacy and incredible dedication in raising awareness and getting help for the Asian communities are being recognised. We wholeheartedly congratulate Dr Feng for this meritorious recognition”. The investiture Ceremony took place on the 27th of May at the Government House, hosted by Her Excellency, the Governor-General of New Zealand, Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kirk, GNZM, QSO.
