Chia-Ling Lin is a Health Navigator at Asian Family Services, based in Wellington.
She brings over 20 years of experience in healthcare and social support to her role.
Originally from Taiwan, Ling moved to New Zealand in 2012 to begin a new chapter in her life.
She holds a Bachelor of Nursing and an Anaesthetist Certificate from Taiwan.
For 10 years, she worked as a registered nurse in Taiwan, assisting in high-complexity surgical procedures.
After moving to New Zealand, she spent another decade working as a support worker, helping vulnerable individuals in the community.
Ling holds a Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, which supports her current work in the mental health sector.
Her role at AFS involves supporting clients with mental health challenges and helping them navigate the New Zealand health system.
She is passionate about providing culturally sensitive care tailored to each person’s unique needs.
Fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese and English, Ling connects easily with clients from diverse backgrounds.
She sees this role as a meaningful way to reconnect with her cultural roots while making a difference in the lives of others.
Ling is eager to learn new frameworks and approaches to enhance her work and is considering further study in mental health or psychology.
Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and watching movies with her family.
She views her current role as a stepping stone to personal growth and new opportunities in the health and wellbeing sector.
